Delicious and refreshing homemade popsicle recipes to try this season. From tropical fruit combos to creamy desserts, these recipes are perfect for adding a little extra sweetness to your summer!

Summer is here, and with it comes the sweet, refreshing bliss of popsicle season! After all the time we’ve spent at home thanks to the pandemic, many of us have become seasoned DIY-ers, so why not put those newfound skills to the test and make some homemade popsicles this summer?

I know, I know – “Make popsicles at home? Really?” But trust me, it’s actually a super fun and rewarding activity! It’s the perfect way to celebrate the warm weather and indulge in a refreshing treat that you can make exactly to your liking. In fact, I’m adding it to my summer bucket list this year, and I think you should too! Homemade popsicles are an absolute must at least once this summer.

Popsicle Making Essentials

So, you’re warming up to the idea of making popsicles at home? Great! Let’s get started with some must-have essentials for your homemade popsicle journey:

  1. Popsicle Molds: The key to creating perfectly formed popsicles is a quality mold. I highly recommend using silicon molds because they are flexible and make it so much easier to pop out your frozen treats once they’re ready. Most molds come with convenient accessories like sticks, so you’ve got everything you need to get started.

Before we move on we need to talk about the age old popsicle question… Icy or creamy?

Here’s the big question: Do you prefer icy popsicles or creamy ones?

Icy Popsicles tend to have more water content, which gives them that refreshing, icy consistency when frozen. These are perfect for those hot days when all you want is a cold, fruity treat.

Creamy Popsicles, on the other hand, are rich and soft, often made with milk, yogurt, or coconut cream. They’re smoother, easier to bite into, and offer a more indulgent, dessert-like experience.

Whether you’re in the mood for icy or creamy (or both), there’s a popsicle recipe for every craving. Let’s dive into some of the best homemade popsicle recipes to try this summer!

Will definitely be adding this to my bucket list! I hadn’t thought about creamy popsicles but have seen pictures of them and now makes a lot more sense as to why they look fuller/more infused with flavour than icepops. Each one that you’ve listed seems to get better and better, I want to try most of them before Summer is over now! Especially the coconut lime and peach crisp, they sound amazing ????. This is a brilliant post, so many ideas! Thanks for sharing ????
