As a single twenty-something living in a tiny apartment, I’m really trying to make the best out of life, and I’ve come to truly appreciate both the joys and the struggles of small-space living. And when I tell you the struggles are intense, they are intense. You really have to make the most of any and all available space you have, especially in a space like the kitchen.
One of the hardest places to maximize space, in my opinion, is the kitchen. Between appliances, dishes, and random kitchen bits and bops, figuring out where to store everything in a way that feels organized and not totally chaotic can be very hard. But somehow, I figured it out!
Over time, I’ve found kitchen storage hacks that genuinely worked for my small space. They’ve made my kitchen look so much more organized, given me more space, and even pushed me to get more creative with how I store things.
Which is why in this post, I’ll be sharing practical small kitchen storage ideas, organization hacks, and space-saving products that make a real difference when you’re working with a tiny kitchen.
1. Under Sink Organizer

A lot of people tend to seriously underutilize the space under their sink, or if it is being used, it’s usually just a chaotic dumping ground for cleaning supplies. And honestly, for the longest time, that was me. I would just dump extra pots, pans, and cleaning products under the sink and close the door. Out of sight, out of mind.
Eventually, I decided to actually organize the space and make the most of it, and these under-sink organizers were a total lifesaver. They’re a great way to store cleaning supplies neatly, and the pull-out feature makes everything so much easier to reach. If there’s one thing I totally recommend, it’s these organizers.
2. Over The Sink Dish Drying Rack

Another lifesaving item in my kitchen is this over-the-sink dish drying rack. When I tell you my sink is tiny, I mean tiny. There’s barely any counter space to place dishes after washing them.
This rack sits right over the sink, allowing dishes to dry without taking up precious counter space. It’s genuinely such a game changer if you don’t have much sink or counter space.

4. Plate Holder

Oh my gosh, this is one of those small things that completely changed the way I organize my cabinets. When you’re dealing with limited shelf space, you have to get creative.
Instead of stacking plates flat and using up all your shelf space, these vertical plate organizers allow you to store plates upright. It saves so much space, it’s honestly unbelievable.
5. Mug Holder Tree

This is one of those items that’s not only fun to look at and aesthetically pleasing, but also a serious space saver. It’s a great way to store extra mugs without cluttering your cabinets, and it still looks neat and stylish.
6. Food Storage Containers

This one honestly doesn’t need much explanation. These containers completely changed the way I store food in my kitchen. I hate opening half-used packets of food that just sit open in cabinets.
Airtight food storage containers keep pantry items clean, organized, and fresh. They also help extend the shelf life of your food instead of letting cereal, snacks, or dry goods go stale in open packaging.
7. Mug Hanger for Cabinets

When I discovered these, I thought they were genius. These clip-on mug organizers attach underneath your cabinets and allow you to hang extra mugs (or, honestly, whatever else you want, you can be creative with these types of things!).

19. Over Cabinet Dish Towel Holder

One thing about me: I will utilize every inch of space! A small but great thing you can get is an over-cabinet door hanger. You just hook it over the door and it gives you a place to hang your kitchen towels so they aren’t cluttering the counter.
20. Adhesive Hooks
