Why a Wooden Bench Might Be the Best Decor Decision You Make This Year

Do you have a nook in your house that’s looking a little bit empty? Or some negative space that just needs a little bit of feeling? Or maybe you’re just the type of person who likes to decorate your entryway and have a nice inviting space that people walk into when they enter your home? Then this post is for you, because I’m about to share some of my favorite bench decor ideas.

One of the most underrated pieces of decor is a bench. I know what you’re thinking: “A bench? Why would I even need or want a wooden bench in my house?” But there’s actually something to be said for wooden benches. I feel like they low-key can be an unsung hero when it comes to household decor.

There’s something about using a wooden bench to fill up a space in a house that makes it look so inviting and like it was decorated by a professional. Once you see all the inspiration I’ve gathered in this post you’ll totally understand what I mean. A wooden bench can honestly be such a powerful tool for adding elements to a home to make it look more inviting and full and like it was intentionally decorated.

There are so many great ways to go about styling a decorative bench, as you’ll see in the post below. Some really popular ways I’ve seen are picture frames above the bench or a wall mirror hung over it. And besides being a functional piece people can actually use, you can also really intentionally style them with pillows and blankets to make them look cozy and make a space feel lived in.

This is a really great example of how you can make a bench look cozy and lived in using just a few really intentionally chosen decor items. Go for some cozy throw pillows and a throw blanket, then combine those with some coffee table books on a really simple base, and artificial or real flowers, your choice. Those things paired together create a look that’s very warm and inviting, and this is the type of thing that would look good in a living room or dining room, just as a way to really intentionally fill up some negative space. It’s amazing.

This is what I’d describe as a simplistic yet really visually appealing way to decorate a bench. I love the simple wooden bench and the way the two pillows are paired with the potted plant. I feel like it’s a way to add some freshness to your home. It’s always a good idea to find ways to add hints of plant life, whether it’s fake or real, it just adds a lot of freshness to a home.

I really love gallery walls. They’re such a great way to add a personal touch to your home in a way that’s really stylish and adds so much personality to a room. Gallery walls are a great way to showcase your style in a way that’s really curated and chic. I’m absolutely obsessed with finding the best frames to achieve looks like this. So a really great way to mix it up and do something a little different from your classic gallery wall is to use a bench like you see above with a vase that adds character.

The square frames look so good and so stylish, and then you pair that with the rustic wooden bench and the black vase on top of the decorative books and the decorative pillow on the side.
